Remarks
When a mouse pointer enters the overlay resize zone of a Side Panel, this panel starts intercepting all mouse events. This allows end-users to resize a panel by dragging its border without clicking and dragging panel child controls located under the pointer.
By default, the overlay resize zone starts from the panel border and goes 10 pixels inwards. By using the OverlayResizeZoneThickness property, you can adjust this distance. The figure below illustrates a side panel with a 30-pixel overlay resize zone.
