BarManager.ActiveEditor Property

Gets the currently active editor.

Namespace: DevExpress.XtraBars

Assembly: DevExpress.XtraBars.v24.2.dll

NuGet Package: DevExpress.Win.Navigation

#Declaration

[Browsable(false)]
public virtual BaseEdit ActiveEditor { get; }

#Property Value

Type Description
BaseEdit

A BaseEdit descendant representing the currently active editor. null (Nothing in Visual Basic) if no editor is active, at present.

#Remarks

Links containing editors can be created by means of edit items (the BarEditItem class). The editor used in an item is set via the BarEditItem.Edit property. Any repository item can be assigned to this property.

Editors are created only when they need to be activated. When an editor is closed, it is destroyed. This allows you to use the same editor within multiple links that refer to the same item.

Use the ActiveEditor property to access the active editor located in an edit link. If no editor is currently active, or the active editor does not belong to a BarEditItemLink, this property returns null (Nothing in Visual Basic).

To get the edit link that contains the currently active editor, you can use the BarManager.ActiveEditItemLink property.

To activate a specific in-place editor in code, use the BarEditItemLink.ShowEditor method.
