Remarks
Use the ItemSpacing property to define the spacing between the adjacent menu items of the root menu level. If separators are visible, the item spacing is displayed before and after a separator.
Note
The ItemSpacing property value can be explicitly defined in certain themes, so specifying it has no effect.
To specify the amount of space between the sub-menu items, use the MenuStyle.ItemSpacing property.

This example demonstrates how the checked state of items can be manipulated to emulate the toolbar behavior (using the ASPxMenu control).
