Tree lines are used to connect nodes.

TreeListView Tree Lines

The TreeListView does not display tree lines when you use the TreeListView.TreeColumnFieldName property. To show lines in this scenario, set the TreeListView.ShowTreeIndentAsCellPart property to false.
