BaseView.InvalidateRect(Rectangle) Method

Invalidates the specified region of a View (adds it to the control’s update region, which will be repainted during the next paint operation), and causes a paint message to be sent to the grid control.

Namespace: DevExpress.XtraGrid.Views.Base

Assembly: DevExpress.XtraGrid.v24.2.dll

NuGet Packages: DevExpress.Win.Grid, DevExpress.Win.Navigation

#Declaration

public virtual void InvalidateRect(
    Rectangle r
)

#Parameters

Name Type Description
r Rectangle

A System.Drawing.Rectangle structure representing the region to invalidate.

#Remarks

To force immediate repainting of invalidated regions (before other processing takes place), call the Update method of the grid control after invalidation.

View regions are automatically invalidated when required. However, you may need to invalidate View regions manually if you implement some specific functionality. For instance, this may be needed when you custom paint View elements. Refer to the Manually Invalidating Controls help topic for details on when manual invalidation is required and how it can be performed.

Note

Detail pattern Views do not contain data and they are never displayed within XtraGrid. So, the InvalidateRect member must not be invoked for these Views. The InvalidateRect member can only be used with Views that display real data within the Grid Control. Use the following methods to access these Views with which an end user interacts at runtime.

The following code snippets (auto-collected from DevExpress Examples) contain references to the InvalidateRect(Rectangle) method.

The algorithm used to collect these code examples remains a work in progress. Accordingly, the links and snippets below may produce inaccurate results. If you encounter an issue with code examples below, please use the feedback form on this page to report the issue.
