DataControlBase.CurrentItemChanged Event

Occurs after the focused row has been changed.

Namespace: DevExpress.Xpf.Grid

Assembly: DevExpress.Xpf.Grid.v24.2.Core.dll

NuGet Package: DevExpress.Wpf.Grid.Core

Declaration

public event CurrentItemChangedEventHandler CurrentItemChanged

Event Data

The CurrentItemChanged event's data class is CurrentItemChangedEventArgs. The following properties provide information specific to this event:

Property Description
Handled Gets or sets a value that indicates the present state of the event handling for a routed event as it travels the route. Inherited from RoutedEventArgs.
NewItem Gets the focused row.
OldItem Gets the previously focused row.
OriginalSource Gets the original reporting source as determined by pure hit testing, before any possible Source adjustment by a parent class. Inherited from RoutedEventArgs.
RoutedEvent Gets or sets the RoutedEvent associated with this RoutedEventArgs instance. Inherited from RoutedEventArgs.
Source Gets the control (GridControl or TreeListControl) that raised the event.

The event data class exposes the following methods:

Method Description
InvokeEventHandler(Delegate, Object) When overridden in a derived class, provides a way to invoke event handlers in a type-specific way, which can increase efficiency over the base implementation. Inherited from RoutedEventArgs.
OnSetSource(Object) When overridden in a derived class, provides a notification callback entry point whenever the value of the Source property of an instance changes. Inherited from RoutedEventArgs.

Remarks

The focused row is displayed within a View if the DataViewBase.NavigationStyle property isn’t set to GridViewNavigationStyle.None. The focused row’s handle is returned by the DataViewBase.FocusedRowHandle property. Its visible position within a View can be obtained using the GridControl.GetRowVisibleIndexByHandle method.

The CurrentItemChanged event is raised after the focused row’s underlying data object is changed (e.g., row focus moves to another data row). However, the CurrentItemChanged event is not raised when sorting or grouping, data rows are reordered: their handles are changed but the data object corresponding to the focused row is not changed.

The GridControl raises DataViewBase.FocusedRowHandleChanged and DataViewBase.FocusedRowHandleChanging events when the focused row handle changes.
