Property Value

PItemIDList |
Remarks
Use this property to specify the identifier of the shell item being accessed via the starting folder. Both virtual and standard shell items can be accessed using identifiers. Note that virtual shell items have no physical analogs – files or folders on hard drives.
Use the AbsolutePIDL
property when working with the Shell API directly. Using this property is similar to specifying the AbsolutePath property with the cxShellObjectInternalAbsoluteVirtualPathPrefix constant.
You can obtain the node’s identifier by calling the GetNodeAbsolutePIDL function. Call one of the following functions to obtain the identifier’s text representation:
- For any shell item, the GetPIDLDisplayName function declared in the cxShellListView unit.
- For standard shell items only, the GetPidlName function declared in the cxShellCommon unit.
