NavBarControl.SmallImages Property
Gets or sets an object that serves as the source of small images used in the NavBarControl.
Namespace: DevExpress.XtraNavBar
Assembly: DevExpress.XtraNavBar.v24.1.dll
NuGet Packages: DevExpress.Win, DevExpress.Win.Navigation
Declaration
Property Value
Type | Default | Description |
---|---|---|
Object | null | An object that is an image collection providing small images for the NavBarControl’s items. |
Remarks
Use the SmallImages property to specify the source of small images that can be displayed in group headers and links.
Once the source of small images has been specified, use the element’s NavElement.SmallImageIndex property to assign the required small image from this list to an item/group.
The NavBar can also display large images within its elements. To specify which images (large or small) should be displayed in group headers and links, use the NavBarGroup.GroupCaptionUseImage and NavBarGroup.GroupStyle properties, respectively.
The SmallImages property accepts the following image collections:
- ImageCollection - Supports image transparency.
- SharedImageCollection - Supports image transparency. Allows you to share images between controls within multiple forms.
- SvgImageCollection - Stores vector icons that can scale without losing their quality on high resolution devices.
- ImageList.
Example
This example shows how to create a NavBarControl in code.
The NavBarControl will have two groups (‘Charts’ and ‘Settings’) with items. Item link selection is enabled by setting the LinkSelectionMode
property to LinkSelectionModeType.OneInGroupAndAllowAutoSelect
. To respond to a link selection, the SelectedLinkChanged event is handled.
In the OneInGroupAndAllowAutoSelect
mode, each group can have a single selected link independent of other groups. When a group is activated and it has no selected link, the first link is auto-selected. At runtime, you will see that the SelectedLinkChanged
event fires on group activation, while the LinkClicked event does not.
The example demonstrates two methods of assigning images to navbar items:
Explicit assignment of Image objects to items (see the ‘Charts’ navbar group item initialization).
Implicit assignment, using image indexes (see the ‘Settings’ navbar group item initialization).
