BaseView.IsEditing Property
Gets a value indicating whether a View is in edit mode.
Namespace: DevExpress.XtraGrid.Views.Base
Assembly: DevExpress.XtraGrid.v24.1.dll
NuGet Packages: DevExpress.Win.Grid, DevExpress.Win.Navigation
Declaration
Property Value
Type | Description |
---|---|
Boolean | true if a View is in edit mode; otherwise, false. |
Remarks
The IsEditing property indicates whether a View is in edit mode. However, as implemented in the BaseView class, the IsEditing property value is always false. This property is overridden in derived classes to indicate whether cell value editing is being performed at present time.
Note: the BaseView.ActiveEditor property returns null (Nothing in Visual Basic) if the IsEditing property value is false. Thus, you can also check the BaseView.ActiveEditor property value to determine whether editing is being performed.
Note
Detail pattern Views do not contain data and they are never displayed within XtraGrid. So, the IsEditing member must not be invoked for these Views. The IsEditing member can only be used with Views that display real data within the Grid Control. Use the following methods to access these Views with which an end user interacts at runtime.
- GridControl.MainView - returns the top most View in a grid;
- GridControl.FocusedView - returns the focused View;
- GridControl.DefaultView - returns the currently maximized View;
- the sender parameter of View specific events;
- GridView.GetDetailView - returns a detail clone View for a specific master row.
