Parent Objects
Parent objects are the ExpressGauge control components used as containers for other objects. The “parent object” term is also applicable to instances of the Gauge Control, since they are designed to host all types of visual and helper objects.
The following ExpressGauge components can be parent objects:
The TdxGaugeControl component (instances of the Gauge Control serve as “global” parent objects or root nodes for scale hierarchies);
The Container Scale component (non-visual scales designed only to host and group other scales);
The Scale component (scales are the main visual components of the Gauge Control designed to display their assigned values).
Both the scales and containers are anchored to their parent objects via the AnchorScaleIndex property:
All scales hosted within a parent object rise by one level within the scales hierarchy if it is deleted, and if it also contained custom captions and/or range bars, these optional decorative components are deleted as well.
Note that the optional decorative components, such as custom captions and range bars, cannot be parent objects.
