    DesignDockPanelType hiddenPanels
)

Name Type Description
report XtraReport

lookAndFeel UserLookAndFeel

A UserLookAndFeel object which specifies the look and feel settings applied to the End-User Report Designer.

hiddenPanels DesignDockPanelType

One or more DesignDockPanelType enumeration values identifying the Report Designer dock panels to be hidden.

Remarks

Call the ShowDesignerDialog method to open the report in the default Report Designer form with a Standard Toolbar modally.

To be able to use this method, you should add the DevExpress.XtraReports.v24.2.Extensions.dll to your project’s References list.

The following example demonstrates how to invoke the Report Designer with the default look and feel settings and without the Properties window and Report Explorer panels.

using DevExpress.XtraReports.UI;
using DevExpress.LookAndFeel;
using DevExpress.XtraReports.UserDesigner;
// ...

XtraReport1 report = new XtraReport1();
report.ShowDesignerDialog(UserLookAndFeel.Default, DesignDockPanelType.PropertyGrid
    |DesignDockPanelType.ReportExplorer);

We recommend you use the ReportDesignTool class instead, which provides the similar ReportDesignTool.ShowDesignerDialog method and additionally allows you to customize the Report Designer form. This class also enables you to release the memory right after showing this form (for instance, by calling the Dispose method or utilizing the using statement).

Note

You cannot use the ShowDesignerDialog method in Web applications. Use the Web Report Designer instead.
