Windows | Authenticate with a Windows user account. |
SqlServer | Authenticate with a SQL server account. |
ActiveDirectoryInteractive | Authenticate with a Microsoft Entra ID using interactive authentication. |
ActiveDirectoryPassword | Authenticate with a Microsoft Entra ID username and password. |
ActiveDirectoryIntegrated | Authenticate with a Microsoft Entra ID using Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA). |
ActiveDirectoryDefault | Authenticate with a Microsoft Entra ID using password-less and non-interactive mechanisms such as managed identities, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Azure CLI, and more. |
Remarks
For Microsoft Azure SQL databases, SqlDataSource
supports Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure Active Directory) authentication. This authentication method requires use of the Microsoft.Data.SqlClient NuGet package in your application.
