Data Layout: Records, Rows, and Cells

Vertical Grid displays data using the following elements:

  • Record - a single data source entry;
  • Row - a horizontal stripe that represents one or multiple data source field(s) and their values. A simple row consists of a caption and a value cell. Rows with no value cells are called category rows and organize data rows into a hierarchy.
  • Cell - displays the value that a current data source entry stores in this specific data source field.
