How to Create Skins Using the Skin Editor
- 2 minutes to read
This topic describes how you can create skins using the Skin Editor.
The Skin Editor shipped with the ExpressSkins Library allows you to create new skins, and build resource and unit files to incorporate these skins into your applications.
To create skins from scratch, perform the following steps:
Run the Skin Editor.
Create a new project. To do this, click the New button in the toolbar, or select File | New in the menu.
In the New Project dialog, specify the project name and its location, select one or more template skins and name the new skins.
You can have as many skins in a single project as you desire. Use the Project menu to invoke the “Project Manager” dialog, which will help you manage skins in your project.
Customize the appearance aspects of control elements by loading images and glyphs for corresponding elements, and changing image properties as your needs dictate.
Once you’ve completed your modifications, select Project | Build in the menu to create the resource and unit files that contain the generated skins and skin registration routines. These files will have the same name as the project, and can be found at the project location.
