Use the Commands page to organize toolbar items into categories and collectively manage visibility and end-user availability.
At design time, the Commands page of the Customization Form allows you to:
create, rename, delete and hide/display categories (using the Modify button on the Categories panel);
distribute existing toolbar items among the categories;
create, delete and control the visible state of toolbar items within a specific category;
clear the contents of a specific category;
add toolbar item controls from the Commands list to toolbars and submenus.
To remove an item from one category and place it onto another, drag it from the Commands list to the desired category within the Categories list.
At runtime, the Commands page of the Customization Form only allows end-users to add toolbar item controls from the Commands list to toolbars and submenus. To place a bar item onto a toolbar, drag it from the Commands list to the desired toolbar.
At design time, you can customize item properties by selecting it in the Commands list and switching to the Object Inspector. Setting these properties affects all item controls. You can customize item control properties at runtime by using the properties of the corresponding item link. Certain properties can be customized at design time via its customizing popup menu.
The selected item’s Description property is displayed within the Description area.
Two “…modify“ buttons appears in the Commands page at design time.
With the “…modify“ button on the Categories panel, you can call a popup menu, which can be used to create, rename, delete and hide/display categories, and control the visible state of individual items within a specific category.
With the “…modify“ button on the Commands panel, you can clear the content of a specific category; create, delete an item and add existing items to a subitem.
Clicking any of these buttons invokes a popup menu. This popup menu can also be invoked by right-clicking a category or an item. Refer to the Category Modify and Item Modify topics, for more information.
