Remarks

Platform-dependent value managers rely on specific mechanisms to manage values. Consider, for example, an ASP.NET Web Forms value manager that uses a web session to store values. Obviously, such a value manager can only be used in the context of an active web session. When used outside of such a context, this value manager will return false.
