Code 93
- 2 minutes to read
Code 93 is an alphanumeric, variable length symbology. It was designed to supplement and improve the Code 39 barcode.
Refer to the following article for more details: Code 93.
Add the Bar Code to a Report
Drag the XRBarCode item from the DX.24.2: Report Controls tab and drop it onto the report.
Set the XRBarCode control’s Symbology property to Code 93 (an object of the Code93Generator type).
Specify common barcode properties and properties specific to Code 93.
Specific Properties
Use the barcode’s CalcCheckSum property to specify whether to calculate a check sum for this barcode.
Note
A checksum of a Code 93 barcode can contain characters that are not supported by this barcode symbology. For this reason, the checksum is not included in the Code 93 barcode’s displayed text.
Runtime Example
The following code creates a Code 93 barcode and specifies its properties.
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Drawing.Printing;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using DevExpress.XtraPrinting.BarCode;
using DevExpress.XtraReports.UI;
// ...
public XRBarCode CreateCode93BarCode(string BarCodeText) {
// Create a barcode control.
XRBarCode barCode = new XRBarCode();
// Set the barcode's type to Code 93.
barCode.Symbology = new Code93Generator();
// Adjust the barcode's main properties.
barCode.Text = BarCodeText;
barCode.Width = 400;
barCode.Height = 100;
// Adjust the properties specific to the barcode type.
((Code93Generator)barCode.Symbology).CalcCheckSum = false;
return barCode;
}
