CrossTabFieldBase.FieldName Property

Specifies the name of a data source field to which the Cross Tab field is bound.

Namespace: DevExpress.XtraReports.UI.CrossTab

Assembly: DevExpress.XtraReports.v23.2.dll

NuGet Package: DevExpress.Reporting.Core

Declaration

[DefaultValue("")]
[SRCategory(ReportStringId.CatData)]
public string FieldName { get; set; }

Property Value

Type Default Description
String String.Empty

The data field name.

Remarks

The Cross Tab’s DataSource and DataMember properties supply data to this control.

To create the Cross Tab’s layout, specify its fields and use the FieldName property to bind them to data source fields. The Cross Tab supports three field types:

  • RowFields - display values of data source fields as row headers;

  • ColumnFields - display values of data source fields as column headers;

  • DataFields - use values of data source fields to calculate summaries at the intersection of rows and columns.

At design time, drop a data field from the Field List onto a cross-tab area. This creates a new Cross Tab field of an appropriate type and sets its FieldName property to the dropped data field.

You can also select the corresponding Cross Tab cell and change this property in the smart tag or Properties window.

See the XRCrossTab class description for more information about this control.

Example

The following code sample creates a new SqlDataSource, creates a report with the XRCrossTab control at runtime, and binds the Cross Tab control to data:
