CalcEdit.Text Property

Gets or sets the text displayed in the edit box.

Namespace: DevExpress.XtraEditors

Assembly: DevExpress.XtraEditors.v18.2.dll

Declaration

[Bindable(false)]
[Browsable(false)]
public override string Text { get; set; }

Property Value

Type Description
String

The string displayed in the edit box.

Remarks

The Text property specifies the text currently displayed in the edit box. When the end-user works with the dropdown calculator , the Text property contains the number typed or the result of calculations. When the calculator is closed, Text contains the text representation of the edit value.

When the editor is focused and the calculator is closed, the edit value is formatted according to the RepositoryItemTextEdit.Mask settings. When the editor does not have focus, the edit value is formatted according to RepositoryItem.DisplayFormat.

Although you can change the Text property in order to modify the editor’s value, this is mostly intended for internal use (for converting typed strings in the edit box to decimal). To specify the editor’s value, use the CalcEdit.Value or the CalcEdit.EditValue property instead.

The following code snippet (auto-collected from DevExpress Examples) contains a reference to the Text property.
