Note
Before you follow the troubleshooting process, ensure that you have .NET SDK 6.0 or later installed and you run Visual Studio 2022 or later. The support for older versions of .NET and Visual Studio has been discontinued in DevExpress ASP.NET Core Controls v22.2.
See Prerequisites and Installation for more information.
To fix this issue, follow the steps below:
Make sure that DevExtreme components support your Visual Studio version. Use the following topic to check the version: DevExpress Versions.
Ensure that your antivirus tools do not block DevExtreme installation and do not affect Visual Studio when you open a project.
Ensure that you run Visual Studio and DevExtreme installations with Administrator privileges.
Make sure that the installation log does not have any errors. You can find this log in the following folders:
- C:\Program Files\DevExpress 24.2\DevExtreme
- C:\Program Files\DevExpress 24.2\Components
Open the
.log
file in a text editor and check the following:Find all entries of the word “error” and make sure that no errors relate to DevExtreme components.
Make sure that the Visual Studio State is
FFFFFFFF
as shown below:1/27/2022 5:01:52 PM ::: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\2022\Professional 1/27/2022 5:01:52 PM ::: State FFFFFFFF
If the state is different, reinstall or repair Visual Studio, then do the same for DevExtreme. Check if the issue persists.
If you use the unified DevExpress installer, you can also check steps from the following help topic: Troubleshoot Installation Errors.
