TcxCustomTextEditProperties.OEMConvert Property

Determines whether characters typed in an editor are converted from ANSI to OEM and back to ANSI.

Declaration

property OEMConvert: Boolean read; write; default False;

Property Value

Type Default
Boolean False

Remarks

To ensure that any characters typed in your editor can be unambiguously converted to the OEM character set, set the OEMConvert property to True. This forces all characters to be converted from ANSI to OEM and then back to ANSI as they are typed. Set the OEMConvert property to False to avoid the overhead of this conversion when it does not matter whether text can be unambiguously mapped to an OEM string.

The OEMConvert property is most useful for edit controls used to enter file names when the application does not use Unicode file names.

The default value of the OEMConvert property is False.
