Upgrade Themes
We constantly improve the visual appearance of our products. For this purpose, we may modify and/or refactor our themes between major and minor releases. Custom themes created with older DevExpress versions may become incompatible with newer releases. We have created the Upgrade mechanism to help you migrate to a newer DevExpress Controls version. The newer version should be installed on your machine. NuGet packages are not supported.
If you upgrade the WPF Controls, you need to upgrade themes based on this WPF Controls version.
Important
The Your_Theme_Folder\.td\OriginTheme folder stores a copy of your base DevExpress WPF Theme. This folder is required for an upgrade. Do not delete this folder.
Follow the next steps to upgrade your theme:
- Go to the Upgrade Tab.
- Specify the theme’s .tdsln file path.
- Choose the target version.
Click Upgrade.
Open your upgraded theme’s Theme Designer project and click Publish to create an assembly with the upgraded theme.
The upgrade process is automatic, but the Theme Designer may ask you to resolve conflicts. Resolve all merge conflicts to complete the upgrade and continue edit your theme in the Theme Designer. Refer to the Resolve Merge Conflicts topic for more information.
