GridView.ExpandMasterRow(Int32) Method
Expands the specified master row.
Namespace: DevExpress.XtraGrid.Views.Grid
Assembly: DevExpress.XtraGrid.v19.2.dll
Declaration
Parameters
Name | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
rowHandle | Int32 | An integer value identifying the master row by its handle. |
Remarks
The ExpandMasterRow method can be used as an alternative to the GridView.SetMasterRowExpanded method, which requires an additional parameter specifying how the row’s expanded state should be changed.
The GridOptionsDetail.AllowExpandEmptyDetails option controls whether empty details can be expanded. If this option is set to false and the default detail is empty, the ExpandMasterRow method will not expand this detail. Instead, the first non-empty detail will be expanded.
Before a master row is expanded, the GridView.MasterRowExpanding event is raised. If the event handler prohibits expanding the row, the ExpandMasterRow method does nothing. If the row is successfully expanded, the GridView.MasterRowExpanded event is raised.
Please refer to the Master-Detail Relationships topic, for additional information.
Note
Detail pattern Views do not contain data and they are never displayed within XtraGrid. So, the ExpandMasterRow member must not be invoked for these Views. The ExpandMasterRow member can only be used with real Views that are displayed within the Grid Control. The real Views with which an end-user interacts at runtime can be accessed using the following methods.
- GridControl.MainView - returns the top most View in a grid;
- GridControl.FocusedView - returns the focused View;
- GridControl.DefaultView - returns the currently maximized View;
- the sender parameter of View specific events;
- GridView.GetDetailView - returns a detail clone View for a specific master row.
