GridView.IsMasterRowEmptyEx(Int32, Int32) Method

Indicates whether a particular master row’s detail View is empty.

Namespace: DevExpress.XtraGrid.Views.Grid

Assembly: DevExpress.XtraGrid.v19.2.dll

Declaration

public virtual bool IsMasterRowEmptyEx(
    int rowHandle,
    int relationIndex
)

Parameters

Name Type Description
rowHandle Int32

An integer value identifying the tested master row by its handle.

relationIndex Int32

A zero-based integer specifying the index of the relationship in the data source.

Returns

Type Description
Boolean

true if the specified detail View has no data; otherwise, false.

Remarks

Note that the method does not only depend on actual presence of data within a particular detail. If the master View’s GridOptionsDetail.EnableMasterViewMode option is disabled, the method returns false regardless of whether the detail is actually empty. In addition, the method raises the GridView.MasterRowEmpty event so that you can manually specify the presence of data within particular details.

If the View has a single detail, it is more convenient to use the GridView.IsMasterRowEmpty method.

Note

Detail pattern Views do not contain data and they are never displayed within XtraGrid. So, the IsMasterRowEmptyEx member must not be invoked for these Views. The IsMasterRowEmptyEx member can only be used with real Views that are displayed within the Grid Control. The real Views with which an end-user interacts at runtime can be accessed using the following methods.
