ColumnBase.AllowEditing Property

Gets or sets whether end-users can edit column values. This is a dependency property.

Namespace: DevExpress.Xpf.Grid

Assembly: DevExpress.Xpf.Grid.v19.1.Core.dll

Declaration

public DefaultBoolean AllowEditing { get; set; }
Public Property AllowEditing As DefaultBoolean

Property Value

Type Description
DefaultBoolean

A DefaultBoolean enumeration value that specifies whether an end-user can edit cell values.

Remarks

End-users are allowed to edit data if the view's DataViewBase.AllowEditing property is set to true and the DataViewBase.NavigationStyle property is set to GridViewNavigationStyle.Cell. Individual columns provide the AllowEditing property, allowing the default behavior specified by the view to be overridden. Setting this property to 'True' or 'False' overrides the default behavior. This can be useful when it is required to prevent an end-user from changing values of individual columns.

If the AllowEditing property is set to 'Default', the ability to edit data is controlled by the view's DataViewBase.AllowEditing property.

TIP

Set the ColumnBase.ReadOnly to true to prevent end-users from editing column values, but allow end-users to select and copy cell text.
