Microsoft Azure Specifics

Important

This documentation applies to v16.2. Starting with v17.1, the ASPxDashboardViewer control is in maintenance mode. In v19.1, the new Web Dashboard Control replaces the old Web Dashboard Viewer. This means that the Web Dashboard Viewer will not be included in our installation packages. See our blog post for more information.

Refer to the following KB articles to learn how to migrate to ASPxDashboard / ASP.NET MVC Dashboard:

The Web Viewer has exporting specifics when a web application is deployed to Microsoft Azure. If the dashboard or specific dashboard items are exported to PDF or image formats, their content is saved to the Windows Metafile format, which is not supported by Azure. To overcome this limitation, set the DashboardExportSettings.CompatibilityMode property to DashboardExportCompatibilityMode.Restricted at the application startup.

using DevExpress.DashboardCommon;
// ...

void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) {
    DashboardExportSettings.CompatibilityMode = DashboardExportCompatibilityMode.Restricted;
}

In this case, images from the corresponding exported documents will be always rendered as bitmaps.
