How to Install a Hotfix

  1. Download the hotfix from the link posted by our Support Team. For information on the HotFix and Maintenance Release policy, refer to the following page: DevExpress HotFix and Maintenance Release FAQ.
  2. Hotfixes cannot be installed on a preinstalled Report and Dashboard Server. An attempt to do so results in the following error: “The same version of Report and Dashboard Server is already installed on this machine. Please uninstall this version before starting an installation“. Do the following:
    1. Create a backup copy of the database to which the current Report and Dashboard Server installation is connected. Uninstalling the server does not affect the database, but we recommend creating a backup to preserve the data.
    2. Uninstall the current Report and Dashboard Server version.
  3. Install the hotfix. During installation, specify the same database to which the server was connected earlier. The installation process does not change the settings specified in the Administrative Panel. Configuration changes made outside the RDS Administrative Panel (such as web.config modifications and website bindings) are reset during hotfix installation, and you should reconfigure them manually.
