System Requirements

This document lists the system requirements for deploying Report and Dashboard Server in your business environment.

The DevExpress Report and Dashboard Server supports the Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022), Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11 operating systems. The following requirements are necessary to run the Report and Dashboard Server.

Microsoft SQL Server 2008+

The Report and Dashboard Server uses SQL Server to manage reports, users, tasks, etc.

The Express edition of SQL Server is also supported.

IIS 7.0+, .NET Framework 4.6.2+

The Report and Dashboard Server administration site is run through Internet Information Services (IIS), and is built on .NET 4.6.2.

If you installed IIS on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 for the first time, you must register the .NET Framework ASP.NET installation with IIS using the ASP.NET IIS Registration Tool.

SMTP Mail Server

SMTP Mail Server is used to send report distributions to those on your distribution lists and for user management emails sent when you create new user accounts.

HTTP Activation

HTTP Activation is required for the Report Designer to communicate with the Report and Dashboard Server.

HTTP Errors and Static Content

These features enable IIS to respond to specific HTTP errors and configure settings related to processing requests for static files.

Windows Authentication

Windows Authentication is required at initial install since we add the current Windows user as the default administrator.

By default, the Report and Dashboard Server uses Windows authentication (although this can be changed).

IP Security

IP Security (IP and Domain Restrictions in Windows Server) is required to restrict Worker endpoint to localhost only.

WebSocket Protocol (optional)

We recommend that you enable the WebSocket Protocol feature to allow the Report and Dashboard Server to use WebSockets for client-server communication.
