Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Your DevExpress.com Account

  • 4 minutes to read

By enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), you can help protect your DevExpress.com account from unauthorized access.

Note

All DevExpress.com account holders must enable MFA to access protected DevExpress.com resources (including the DevExpress Client Center/Support Center) by December 31, 2024.

DevExpress‍.com web properties support both email and authenticator-based verification. We recommend use of both verification options (enable both) to limit downtime should you lose access to a specific verification mechanism.

Refer to the following sections to enable MFA for your DevExpress.com account.

Access Your Account’s MFA Settings

Use the following direct URL to reach the Multi-Factor Authentication Settings section on your User Account page.

Multi-Factor Authentication Settings

If you are logged out, DevExpress.com first redirects you to the Log In page. Enter your credentials to proceed.

Access Your Settings in the “User Account” Menu

If you are logged in to DevExpress.com, you can access your profile page on the user account menu. Tap the user icon in the top-right corner and select Manage Profile.

Access Account Settings via the User Menu

Once you land on the “My Account“ page, scroll down to find the following section: Multi-Factor Authentication Settings.

Access DevExpress Account MFA Settings

Enable or Disable Email Verification

The steps to enable or disable Email-based verification are mostly the same.

Click the Enable Mail-based Verification or Disable Mail-based Verification link. Look for an email with your one-time code. DevExpress.com forwards this email to the primary email address associated with your DevExpress.com account.

Return to your User Account page. Enter the one-time code you received and press Confirm.

MFA Email Verification - Enter Code

If you entered the code correctly, the webpage shows a message that MFA has been successfully enabled or disabled. The DevExpress website also sends you a confirmation email.

MFA Email Verification - Success

Enable or Disable Authenticator App Verification

If you haven’t done so yet, install an authenticator app onto your mobile device. You can use Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or a similar application.

On your DevExpress.com account page, click “Enable Authenticator App-based Verification“. The page displays a QR code and a recovery code.

MFA App Verification - Scan QR Code

Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code to set up an entry associated with your DevExpress.com account. The app will now display autorenewable one-time passwords/codes.

Return to your User Account page. Enter the current one-time code displayed in the app, and press Confirm.

MFA App Verification - Enter Code

If you entered the code correctly, the webpage shows a message that MFA has been successfully enabled. The DevExpress website also sends you a confirmation email.

MFA App Verification - Success

To disable this verification method, click Disable Authenticator App-based Verification. Enter the one-time code displayed in the app and press Confirm. Once the website processes your request, it displays an on-page message and sends you a confirmation email.

Switch Between Email-Based and App-Based Verification

We recommend that you enable both verification methods. An additional method would help you minimize downtime should you experience issues with your email or authenticator app.

If you set up both methods, the “Log In” page first expects a code from the verification source indicated as your default option.

If you want to change the default option, navigate to your “User Account” page. Find the “(default)“ label next to one of verification method entries. To change your preference, use the link that says “Set as Default Verification Method“.

MFA Settings - Default Verification Method

DevExpress.com sends you a confirmation email after a successful switch.

Note that you can choose a verification method when you log in to DevExpress.com. See the following section for details.

Use Multi-Factor Authentication When Logging In

If you enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA), DevExpress.com displays the following additional screen when you log in to your account.

Log In to DevExpress.com with MFA

Enter the one-time code you received in your email or obtained from your authenticator app. Click CONFIRM to complete your login.

Note the link under the form. If you have trouble accessing your email or authenticator app, you can switch to a different verification method. This link is only available if you set up both methods in your account settings.
