Gets or sets whether copying data in XLS (Biff8) format is enabled.

DefaultBoolean **Default**

A value that specifies whether copying data in XLS (Biff8) format is enabled. The Default value is equivalent to DefaultBoolean.True.

Available values:

Name Description
True

Corresponds to a Boolean value of true.

False

Corresponds to a Boolean value of false.

Default

The value is determined by the current object’s parent object setting (e.g., a control setting).

Remarks

The AllowExcelFormat option is in effect if the ClipboardOptions.ClipboardMode property is set to Formatted. See Clipboard - Copy and Paste Operations. Data Formatting to learn more.

Note

Due to Excel limitations, it is impossible to paste formatted data when copying from more than 65,653 cells. Instead, copied data will be pasted as an RTF or, if this option is disabled, as simple plain text.
