WebNewObjectViewController Class

Inherits from the NewObjectViewController to implement ASP.NET Web Forms specific behavior.

Namespace: DevExpress.ExpressApp.Web.SystemModule

Assembly: DevExpress.ExpressApp.Web.v24.2.dll

NuGet Package: DevExpress.ExpressApp.Web

#Declaration

public class WebNewObjectViewController :
    NewObjectViewController

#Remarks

This Controller populates the ChoiceActionBase.Items collection of the inherited New Action (see NewObjectViewController.NewObjectAction). To populate this collection, the NewObjectViewController.CollectDescendantTypes method is used. So, the current View’s object type and its descendants are only added to the collection as items. This peculiarity is caused by the Web application design.

WebNewObjectViewController_NewAction

To provide the capability to create objects of types other than the current object or its descendants, the WebNewObjectViewController adds the QuickCreateAction Action. You can access this Action using the WebNewObjectViewController.QuickCreateAction property. This Action contains items that represent types listed in the Application Model’s IModelCreatableItems node.
