ViewEditMode

A ViewEditMode enumeration value that represents the current Property Editor’s control display mode.

Available values:

Name Description
View

An XAF element that supports the View-Edit mode is displayed in the read-only mode in ASP.NET Web Forms applications.

Edit

An XAF element that supports the View-Edit mode is displayed in the editable mode in ASP.NET Web Forms applications.

#Remarks

Use this property to get the mode for displaying the Property Editor’s control. The following values are available:

  • Edit

    The Property Editor’s control is available for data editing.

  • View

    The Property Editor’s control can be used to view data only.

This property is managed by the View that contains the current Property Editor (see DetailView.ViewEditMode).

Internally, the ViewEditMode property is used to determine what control should be created for the current Property Editor. The control that is created in view mode can be accessed via the WebPropertyEditor.InplaceViewModeEditor property, and the control created in edit mode is returned by the WebPropertyEditor.Editor property.
