IRule.Validate(Object) Method

Checks that a particular object satisfies the Validation Rule.

Namespace: DevExpress.Persistent.Validation

Assembly: DevExpress.Persistent.Base.v24.2.dll

#Declaration

RuleValidationResult Validate(
    object target
)

#Parameters

Name Type Description
target Object

The object to check.

#Returns

Type Description
RuleValidationResult

A RuleValidationResult object which represents the results of checking the specified object via the Validation Rule.

#Remarks

When implementing the IRule interface, this method should contain the logic that checks whether the target object is valid. In the method’s body, after checking the target object, instantiate a new RuleValidationResult object and pass the validation results as the constructor’s parameters. The instantiated object should be returned as the method’s return value.
