The VisualTimelineViewGroupByDate class instance can be accessed via the SchedulerViewBase.VisualViewInfo property when the TimelineView is currently used by the SchedulerControl to show its data (the SchedulerControl.ActiveViewType property is set to SchedulerViewType.Timeline) and appointments are grouped by dates or resources (the SchedulerControl.GroupType property is set to SchedulerGroupType.Date or SchedulerGroupType.Resource).
