IModelDetailViewWeb.CollectionsEditMode Property

Specifies the Detail View’s mode of operation, with respect to the display of nested List Views.

Nullable<ViewEditMode>

A Nullable<ViewEditMode> enumeration value which specifies the application’s mode of operation with respect to the display of nested List Views.

View

An XAF element that supports the View-Edit mode is displayed in the read-only mode in ASP.NET and Mobile applications.

Edit

An XAF element that supports the View-Edit mode is displayed in the editable mode in ASP.NET and Mobile applications.

Remarks

In ViewEditMode.Edit mode used by default, collection properties are always displayed in a Detail View, but can only be modified when the Detail View is in Edit mode.

WebCollectionsMode_Edit

In ViewEditMode.View mode, collection properties are not displayed when a Detail View is in edit mode, and can be modified only when the Detail View is in view mode.

WebCollectionsMode_View

When the CollectionsEditMode property is set to null (Nothing in VB), the value of the IModelOptionsWeb.CollectionsEditMode property is used instead. So, you can use the global property to change the collections edit mode for all Detail Views at once.

You can change the CollectionsEditMode property value in the Views | DetailView node in the Model Editor invoked for the for the ASP.NET module or application project.
