ModificationsController.SaveAction Property

Provides access to the ModificationsController‘s Save Action.

Namespace: DevExpress.ExpressApp.SystemModule

Assembly: DevExpress.ExpressApp.v18.2.dll

Declaration

public SimpleAction SaveAction { get; }

Property Value

Type Description
SimpleAction

A SimpleAction object representing the Save Action.

Remarks

The Save Action is intended to commit the changes made to the object selected in the current View (see BaseObjectSpace.CommitChanges).

This Action’s Execute event is handled by the Save protected method, overridden in the WinModificationsController and WebModificationsController in different ways. For example, the Action’s state is not updated after execution in an ASP.NET application, by design.

The Save Action is active when the current View is root (see View.IsRoot). Additionally, in ASP.NET applications, it is active when the View is displayed in edit mode (see DetailView.ViewEditMode). In Windows Forms applications, its active state depends on the ModificationsController.ModificationsHandlingMode property value.

The Save Action can be disabled if the current user does not have permission to change the current object.

Information on the Save Action is available in the Application Model‘s ActionDesign node. To access it, use the Model Editor.
