Members of the ViewEditMode enumeration specify the available modes for displaying an XAF UI Element in ASP.NET applications. To get the enumeration value which is currently set for a Detail View, use the DetailView.ViewEditMode property. In addition, a View Item can also have a similar property, that specifies its display mode. In this instance, the View Item implements the ISupportViewEditMode interface.
