ColumnView.GetFocusedRow() Method

Returns an object representing the focused row.

Namespace: DevExpress.XtraGrid.Views.Base

Assembly: DevExpress.XtraGrid.v18.2.dll

Declaration

public object GetFocusedRow()

Returns

Type Description
Object

An object representing the focused row.

Remarks

This method’s return value depends upon the type of the View’s data source. If the data source is a DataTable or a DataView, this method returns a DataRowView object that represents the focused row. If the data source is a custom list of items, the appropriate list item is returned.

If a group row is focused, the GetFocusedRow function returns an object that represents the first data row in the associated group.

See the Accessing Rows in Code. Row Handles section in the Rows topic to learn more.

Note

Detail pattern Views do not contain data and they are never displayed within XtraGrid. So, the GetFocusedRow member must not be invoked for these Views. The GetFocusedRow member can only be used with real Views that are displayed within the Grid Control. The real Views with which an end-user interacts at runtime can be accessed using the following methods.

Example

This example binds a GridControl to a collection of custom Record objects and demonstrates the following features:

  • Assigning an inplace editor (combo box) to a column

  • Specifying a column’s display name and data format by applying DataAnnotation attributes to Record class properties

  • Two ways of changing cell values - at the data source and grid level.

  • Highlighting cell values that meet a condition
