Controls provided by Developers Express support a common look and feel mechanism. They all declare the LookAndFeel property that provides access to a UserLookAndFeel object specifying the control's paint style. The UserLookAndFeel declares the following properties:
The UserLookAndFeel.UseDefaultLookAndFeel property. If set to true, all the other properties are ignored and the paint style is controlled by the default look and feel object available via the static UserLookAndFeel.Default property. You can access these default settings at design time using the DefaultLookAndFeel component.
If the UserLookAndFeel.UseDefaultLookAndFeel property value is false, the painting style is specified by other properties.
- The UserLookAndFeel.UseWindowsXPTheme property. If set to true, the control is painted in the current XP theme regardless of the UserLookAndFeel.Style property (described later). If set to false or not running under Windows XP (or a Windows Classic theme is used), the control is painted according to the UserLookAndFeel.Style property.
- The UserLookAndFeel.Style property. This property allows you to choose one of the predefined painting styles listed by the LookAndFeelStyle enumeration. Note that this enumeration just lists the styles that are supported by all controls. Some controls may provide extra styles and provide additional properties to support them.
