HamburgerMenu.AvailableViewStates Property

Gets or sets whether the menu can be displayed in the Flyout, Overlay and/or Inline state. This is a dependency property.

HamburgerMenuAvailableViewStates

A HamburgerMenuAvailableViewStates enumeration constant or their bitwise combination, that specifies the menu’s available view states.

Available values:

Name Description
Flyout

The flyout view state is enabled. The menu is hidden. With a click on the hamburger button, the menu is displayed in a fly-out overlaying the currently displayed page.

Overlay

The overlay view state is enabled. The menu is displayed in the compact mode. With a click on the hamburger button, the menu is expanded overlaying the currently displayed page.

Inline

The inline view state is enabled. The menu is displayed expanded inline with the current page. With a click on the hamburger button, the menu is displayed in the compact mode.

All

All three view states are enabled.

Remarks

The menu supports the adaptive layout, thus it automatically changes its view according to the window size. The AvailableViewStates property allows you to specify the view states in which the menu can be displayed. Using the HamburgerMenuAvailableViewStates enumeration, which supports combinations of its constants, you can enable only one, or any two, or all the provided states:

The HamburgerMenu.MinimizedFlyoutStateThreshold property specifies the window width, in pixels, at which the menu automatically turns into the collapsed Flyout state.

Overlay

The menu is displayed in the compact mode. With a click on the hamburger button, the menu is expanded overlaying the currently displayed page

Hamburger overlay

The HamburgerMenu.CompactOverlayStateThreshold property specifies the window width, in pixels, at which the menu automatically turns into the collapsed Overlay state.

Inline

The menu is displayed expanded inline with the current page. With a click on the hamburger button, the menu is displayed in the compact mode
