The NavBarViewBase class implements the basic View functionality. This class declares members that are used to manage the appearance and behavior of view content elements (such as groups and items) and to respond to end-user actions performed within the NavBarControl. Note that the NavBarViewBase object itself has no visual representation, and cannot be applied directly to the navbar control. You can use this object’s descendants to display content data within the NavBarControl.

Since the NavBarViewBase class is the base for all View objects, it also serves as the type of properties, method and event parameters, etc. So, when you obtain a View via an event parameter or a property, you will need to perform a typecast to use the actual View’s specific settings.
