Providing easy and intuitive navigation options within an application is the goal of every software developer. The DXNavBar for Silverlight gives you everything you need to create easy to use applications which have incredible sophistication and elegance.
With DXNavBar, you get multiple layout styles used for switching application modules, controlling application functionality or providing action lists for your application. The following layout styles are included:
- Outlook® style Side Bar
- Windows® style Explorer Bar
- Office® 2007 style Navigation Pane
Each view type includes numerous customization features, such as horizontal or vertical group layout, multiple item arrangement styles, embedded controls, and more.
While each layout type has its own unique customization features and end-user capabilities, they all have common features which include the following:
- For utmost UI consistency, each view can be represented through any DevExpress Silverlight Visual Theme.
- Horizontal or vertical group arrangement.
- Built-in animation effects for the following operations: content scrolling, expanding and collapsing of the navigation pane, expanding and collapsing of individual groups.
- Different item arrangement styles implemented by using various panel controls within groups. For instance, a wrap panel control or a carousel can be used for this purpose.
- Freely customizable group content - you can display a set of items or any embedded controls.
- Groups and items can be read from a bound data source.
- Item selection support.
- Saving and restoring layout. This allows you to persist group expansion states and scrolling between application runs.
