Use the Worksheet.Cells property to access the object that implements the CellCollection interface. This object represents a range that includes all cells of the worksheet. The CellCollection interface is inherited from the Range interface, which provides basic functionality to work with worksheet cells and cell ranges. For details on how to access and manage cells, see the Cells and Cell Ranges document and the Cells section of examples.

Note

The CellCollection.Item property is intended to access individual cells by a string reference. If you need to access a range by the defined name, use the Worksheet.Item or Worksheet.Range property.

Example

This example demonstrates several ways to access individual cells.

By row and column indexes of a cell via the Worksheet.Item property.
By a cell reference (for example, A1, B2, etc.) or by row and column indexes from the worksheet’s collection of cells. Use the CellCollection.Item property.
By a column index or column heading from the specified row. Use the Row.Item property.

By a row index or row heading from the specified column. Use the Column.Item property.
